Default Washed out flower?

Do you think this is a bit washed out?
Do you think I should have used the flash?

EXIF:
Canon SX20IS
f/2.8
1/80
ISO 80
focal 5mm
no flash

I think a flash at that close would've burnt out the highlights. Have you tried upping the saturation in PP?

If you have photoshop, use Levels black eyedropper and the white eyedropper to boost the brightness..you'll be amazed how good it'll make it look. Unless used carefully (like off camera with output adjusted) flash would probably had blow out the fine details

It's certainly fixable, the contrast is just a little flat. Rather than Levels, I recommend using Curves instead to bump up the contrast without blowing out the highlights. I've attached a sample curve I tried, and the result I got from it. If you mind me posting yours as an attachment, please let me know and I'll remove it.

You're welcome! Heh, actually I sharpened it too, that wasn't from Curves...I forgot I did that as well. Just used Unsharp Mask at around 175%, 1.0 Radius, Threshold 4.
