Default Difficult Focus

Advice please on which is the best focus mechanism to use with a basic lense not macro
Cobwebs seem so difficult to get a sharp focus

If your camera has Live View then go into LiveView Mode and zoom in 5 or 10x, with the zoom button not your lens, and manually focus. If you don't have Live View manual focus is still the way to go.

Try focussing on the stalk of the plant the cobweb is on. Or put something immediately behind the web - your hand, or someone else's! A piece of card or even a large leaf. Use that to help focus, lock the focus, pull the hand/card/leaf away and shoot.

Some exif data would be nice too, to know what aperture and shutter speed was used.
