Default Ant Princess

I was just wondering if I could get some feedback on the composition (and anything else people want to point out) of this shot. It was taken with my Canon Powershot SX120, in the "foliage" scene mode. I had some trouble getting the autofocus to do its thing the way I wanted and this was the closest one I could get which wasn't a blur in all the wrong places.

It doesn't seem like a macro shot to me. Maybe you could zoom more on the ant (if possible), since I reckon that is your subject. Leaves are distracting bordering intrusive. And the photo composition is too centered for me.

Well, it was an attempt at macro This was as close as I could get because my camera kept deciding to focus on everything OTHER than the bug if I was any closer. Which is annoying, because I've managed to do better than this in the past... Oh well. I'll hopefully do better next time

You could crop into the image to remove some of the green that is overpowering your focus. I also find the yellow leaf distracting, but cropping may help with this too.

The drops of water on the leaves are very nice.

Maybe you could have gotten down a little so that the ant was a little higher. Let us see it how we normally wouldn't see it. Also try to get it off to one side, rule of thirds. You can also crop it to achieve this.

Thanks for sharing!
