Caterpillars

I took these shots yesterday at the park. My son thought this was just the coolest thing ever!
Would like to hear honest opinions on the photos. The only adjustment that went into these were the adding of my name.

If the subject of the photo is really just the caterpillar, I think you need to get in a little tighter and make sure he's in focus a little better. Here, the body of the caterpillar seems to be in focus, but the head is soft. Remember that your DOF is really narrow when shooting macros.

Since you mentioned that your son thought these were pretty neat, I think a shot w/ his face in view might have been nice -- you'd probably have to choose to focus either on your son or the caterpillar, though.
