Default Orange lilly

Hey guys,

It was my Mum's 50th last week and she got these flowers as a gift. They opened up yesterday so I decided to take a few photos. This is the photo I am most happy with. I had to use a telephoto lens from a few metres back to get this shot as I do not have a macro lens. I spent a while getting the focus sharp on the stamen, did I get it sharp enough? Is the flower framed well or are the stamen too central, I tried to make them the focal point of the photo.

Thanks

The exposure & focus looks fine.

The only downside is that I feel the crop is a little tight with the top & bottom leaves being cut off.

I agree, but it is nonetheless a great shot and elevates my mood.

I really like this photo, the lighting is really great and the colors are just right. But I think it would've been a better shot if you had got more of the right side of the lilly's petals, it would make it feel more interesting I think (: but it is a nice start.
