Default Flower

I took a picture of this flower - with my EOS 60D - handheld with a external flash (speedlite 430 EX II). I beefed up the colors a bit.

I would like to have critique on the colors - did I 'beef' it to much/little?
In relation with the depth of field - is it to narrow?

EXIF: Canon EOS 60D, ISO: 400, 1/60 sec., F5.6, 37mm & external flash

In my opinion the colors are saturated but fine and the contrasting background works well. The DOF could have been a larger to include the rear petal as it is a large part of the scene. But I do not think it detracts too much from the image. Overall I like the photograph. What does it print out like in a 8x10? Jim

HI Jim
Thx for the critique.

I also thought DOF could have been deeper..

I have not printed it yet - but it should be 8.5x11

I have found that by making a print that it is easier for me to see changes I would want to make. And I can wax pencil the print so my old brain doesn't forget! Jim
