Default the white princess

i came across this flower when i was walking in a temple. Only bad luck was it was dusk when i shot it. had to use the flash. Please let me know if there is anything i could have done to make ir look better. Thanks

Off camera flash would have made a better photo. You would probably need two lights to get it. One main light and a fill light to kill the shadow the main light creates. The point of view is plain and uninteresting to me. Jim

oh...ok. But it was dark all around. So i must have perhaps tried the next day. And about the point of view, how would you have liked it. should i have shot from below. Like some angle which is not how you would normally look at a flower? Is that what you are trying to say?

Yes, to get a photograph out of the snapshot category into a still life category you have to be creative with your point of view. Get down eye to eye with your subject. Move around until the shadow is hidden as much as possible. Jim
