Default Figurine

This little guy is just 4 cm tall, and I don't have macro lens yet. So I've used Magnifying glass and manual focus to get something that could be seen as macro.

Now I am interested if you think I got the focus and composition right? I've done some pp - just a bit of 'clarity' in camera raw, to enhance those little bumps and uneven texture... How would you improve on this? Maybe I should try different light source, so the face would be without shadows?

Anything else you could say will be appreciated. Thanks.

I've made one with natural (window) light. Believe it or not, exif data is the same as before. I think this one is better, the eye is celarly visible, even if it is a bit darker.

The second image seems better -- I like the colors better, too. I'd like to see even more crispness in the photo, if possible. Have you considered some sort of subtle background?

I'm not sure -- maybe something to complement the colors, or some other figurines to give this one some sort of setting. I guess I was just thinking that with absolutely nothing else in the frame, it invites an awful lot of attention on the figurine itself, if that makes any sense.
