Hi there,

Is there a particular question you are asking regarding this photo? It will make it easier for others to provide you with advice/critique if you can let us know what it is that concerns you, or what aspect is it of this photo that you want to ask about. Perhaps, you can start off with providing a little bit of background with this photo, how and why you have taken it, and what you wanted to achieve.

Basically, you may want to provide a little bit of guidance to others on what advice you are seeking.

Cheers!

One of the things we need to develop as photographers is the ability to see the quality of light hitting our subject. I have found that for flowers I tend to like overcast days or open shade. I usually avoid flash because light from a flash, unless amended, is rather harsh. This image is fairly well composed but to me the quality of light, presumably from flash, is casting some hard shadows. I would suggest you watch for those times when the light is ideal, or learn to bounce the flash to soften those shadows a bit.

@graciousness : i am pretty much an amateur photographer....so i sriously don know on what aspect am i to ask people for advice. if you give me a general opinion of what i could have done to improve the shot....well, thats what i was looking for

@Lee : it was around 7.30 in the evening. So is it just not the right time to shoot? or must i have tried without the flash?
