Default Genus: Rosa

I was actually going to discard this one - I'm not sure what I didn't like previously... Too close, or too far from the Rose..?..? I love the colors, but that's not the sole reason to like a photograph. I just had a hard time with the composition, but since I've been looking at it for a while ( A small print now hangs from my monitor - something I do quite often when I'm undecided ), I've now come to really appreciate it for whatever it is...

Any opinions to share?

It's nice. The dark background shows off the rose without having to see it lit up harshly, which I like. The bokeh is also great. I'm not sure I'm crazy about the red in the lower left, but it might grow on me.

I think it would make a nice canvas print - I don't think the detail in this photo would suffer on canvas, and the edges seem like they already frame the photo very well, so I think it would look great without any additional framing.

I agree - I would definitely get rid of the red blob in the lower left - it draws the eye and detracts from the picture...
