Default Orange Caterpillar

Orange Caterpillar

Camera Canon EOS REBEL T1i
Exposure 0.005 sec (1/200)
Aperture f/2.8
Focal Length 100 mm
ISO Speed 200

I was aiming for the head but this little guy would not stop moving. Critique on the EXIF that was used?

Maybe it would've helped to use some fill light, so you can set a faster shutter speed to capture this.
For me, i think the colors are a bit flat.
And for getting the right focus, maybe you could try this: follow the Caterpillar's path and focus on a certain point on his path. and then just wait for the caterpillar to 'hit' that point. in that way you're not moving your back and forth or left to right trying to get a perfect focus..

After all it is a nice caterpillar, with all those long hairs

I did not edit the photo; I guess it would have help if I did. This little guy keeps moving its head up and down; so by the time I press the shutter button, the little guy’s head is out of focus again. Of all the shots I’ve taken, only its body was in focus. Thanks.
