This may sound harsh but it is not meant to be.
Crop most of the black out. The colour of the rose is 'flat'. I do not know if you did pp on the photo or not, but I suggest you do saturation and more importantly levels and smart sharpening. The rose looks soft (out of focus?) So instead of trying to get it more in focus, create a soft, dreamy image out of this one by doing as follows. After saturation, levels and smart sharpening duplicate the layer (using GIMP). On the bottom layer do a gaussian blur of between 25 and 30. Change the top layer's opacity to between 60 and 80% Flatten image and save. You're done! Hope this helps
