Smile giant butterfly

Giant butterfly

EXIF Data: Camera: Canon EOS 400D
F-stop: f/5.6
Exposure time: 1/800sec
ISO-100
Focal lenght: 46mm
No flash

Iam not sure if this classify as macro, but any suggestions to improve on this photo will be welcomed, not sure if the focus point is completely right, but I loved the detail in the image.

If you had a closer crop, f5.6 was good, but here I would have preferred the entire wing in focus, an f8 would have done it.
Cheers

Giant butterfly

Not quite a macro. Great job on this. I like it. DOF and all.

I could not see in your EXIF info on flickr whether you did pp on the photo or not. I took the photo on flickr and cropped it closer using rule of thirds, and did some pp on it (saturation, levels and smart sharpening) It is a pity that there is not more to the right of the butterfly to be able to include more of it when applying rule of thirds. If you just crop on the left then it ends up dead centre. See if you like this more or not.
butterfly NOT MINE
PS. I shall remove it from my photostream as soon as you have seen this.

Thumbs up Thanks

Thanks you guys for the comments, Paul E - The way you cropped it make it more macro, but I would have loved for more of wings to show, but thanks it looks realy nice.
