A few comments:

- What is the focus point in this picture? I can't see it. Neither thumb nor the globe are in focus. Try to determine the focus point and then really get it tack-sharp and play with the aperture to determine how much focus is appropriate. How many shots did you take? I would assume this is the only shot you took. Try a different angle.
- The space and lighting on the left of the thumb as well as the sofa is distracting. You could easily position this figure in front of a neutral background and shoot it without distractions.
- There are couple of blown out spots in this picture and the globe is underexposed. Lighting should come from the right to highlight that globe, not the wall.

Is that the back of a chair, or sofa in the background? It is the only thing in the frame that appears to be in sharp focus. Why?
