Lightbulb Through the lens

Extreme manual focus' by Seoulspirit, on Flickr
Kinda surprised EXIF data's still intact as I downloaded this off my Deviantart...anywho:

Camera|Canon EOS Digital Rebel XSi
Exposure|0.017 sec (1/60)
Aperture|f/5.6
Focal Length|55 mm

Something I'd like to know:

It's apparently something you thought of or invented without prior example, so in that sense it is clearly original. I haven't seen this before, and if you are willing to explain, I'd like to know how to do it. It would seem to have a lot of creative potential.

Things like this are a major reason I love this website!
