Default Ice crystals

I came across these hiking a few weeks ago. I used a old kit lense from my daughters N55 35mm Nikon film camera. It has a really close focal length. I shot it at f5.6 to blur the background. It was hard to stick to the rule of thirds to get in the frame what I wanted. Any suggestions very welcome. love macro photography. COPY1386 Camera Lens 28-80mm f/3.3-5.6 Nikon D90

I don't really have any critique for you, but just wanted to say that I really love this photo and that the shallow depth of field makes it very interesting. Keep shooting - this is beautiful

I find the the left hand corner that is out of focus to distracting, the stongest part of your pic to me is the top right corner try a square crop on just that branch i think it will look fab

Default makes me want to do it....

Nice!
I love the ice crystal in the upper right. It makes me want to run out and see if I can get the same type of photo in any of the 15" of snow we got the other day -- but it's too dang cold right now (-7F).

I may agree with the earlier comment regarding strength of the picture in the upper right corner, as I also find my eye distracted by the orange spot. Of course -- I've been at this for 2-weeks and know very little .. so don't put much stock into it.

The structure of the crystal is amazing.

Default Ice crystals

Thanks for all the suggestions. It was hard to plan the shot. They were melting as I was changing lenses. I tryed a few crops as suggested. I don't know how to post them in this box.
