Default Water drop

Hey everybody,

Just got the Sigma 70-300mm APO DG lens with macro so I wanted to experiment. Being new to macro I logically had to attempt the infamous water drop shot... definitely a lot of fun. Anyway here was my result, let me know your thoughts. Thanks!

Nice shot, like the colour and the clarity. Nice and sharp. I've tried this a couple of times but yet to produce something that I think is good enough to share.

I like the idea of the frame, but i think the photo should be abit more bright or colourful.. =) anyway, its still better than my own water droplet (taken by compact camera).. xD

I would've made the frame and actual frame and not a part of the picture... the way you did it, at least for me, communicates photo editing and artificial imagery, which is the opposite I'd try to communicate by shooting water in almost whatever form should it be presented. If you've made the frame actually a frame I would look more like a fine art picture I think.

I would've also lowered the camera a bit and would've taken advantage of the gray background to add more contrast and show more of that "movement" the droplet was describing the very moment you took the picture.

Hope it helps !
