Smile my first macro shoot

here's one of the few shots i made after recieving my nikon d3100 cam last christmas. im very new here and im on the process of learning my cam as well. Im hoping that your comments will help me improve. I wanted to learn more about proper exposure and other techniques. thanks.

Play around with lighting. Try using a flashlight, or some other source to highlight various elements of the fish tank. As you move the light around take in the way the highlights and shadows change. Right now your photo is looking a little flat from front to back.

Thank you michael_2010..as of now im learning a lot from the tips and lessons here at dps. hopefully next time i could post a better picture that will wow some people...that my dream...
