Default pretty but thorny

A shot of a wild flower. Pretty but thorny. I was hoping i have made a better shot. Rule of thirds, exposure, composition, any comment/critique? I used a close up setting. Here' the EXIF data:

Exposure 1/160
Aperture f 5.60
ISO 200

Pretty but thorny

I like the colors and I like the wonderful focus. I do like this picture, but I have to ask: why is the subject way down in the corner?!?

I would like to see more bokeh greenery in the frame beneath the flower.

This explains the rule of thirds really well: Rule of Thirds

it's been a while since i logged in and read your comments just today, laurenbiz and aprillove. thank you for your comments. i took that pic like i was already lying on the ground, lol... the that plant creeps on the ground. and i really have difficulty in focusing, so that i amazed myself with that clearer than usual shot. :P

and aprillove... i don't have a macro lens. i just inverted my lens. thanks so much. your comments made my heart sing...

thanks for the rule of thirds, laurenbiz.
