Not sure if this is a micro shot. I increased sharpness on photoshop but still I feel it is not sharp enough.
Is there a way to improve sharpness? Is it off color? Exif Canon EOS 550D 18-200mm @ 200mm f/5.6 ISO: 100 Shutter: 100 No Flash Last edited by Mzaki; 12-12-2010 at 03:19 PM. |

The snow looks kind of gray.
There is a tutorial on the DPS home page about making snow white for you. I think you can also adjust it via curves layers in Photoshop. Apart from that, I really love the composition. White surfaces are a real problem as the camera understands them as 18% gray reflecting surfaces and it can lead to a screw-up in colours. There is a way though, I have to check it up in a book I have I will post later when I get home from work.

I really likethis photo but I would like it much better if you didn't have those two out of focus blobs to the left of the branch. I realize that they were probably other branches on the tree and you couldn't just hack them off but maybe the clone tool would have hgelped you out here.

You not only changed the color tone but the background. I prefer the shade and texture of the first background and find the two blurrs in your edit a bit distracting.
I personally find when I sharpen in PS it gives noise in some instances and othertimes just an odd dimension. I think maybe the sharpness could have been improved by manually focusing. I often will take several shots like this and manually focus on the closest point of the branch 2/3 mid and maybe a point of interest on the branch. The beauty of digital cameras is we can and we have the cost of all that film. Nice shot. I love photos like this to view, take and decorate my home with. Keep it up |
