Default Fall Raindrops

Would really like opinions on this one...

What would you have done differently?

The big out-of-focus leaf in the foreground takes a lot away from the image. I feel like I am straining to see the rain drops. Have you done this by intent? Did you want to show them as hidden or something? Unfortunately, I don't think you can crop it out easily, so your only option is to re-shoot. Of course, you should wait for other people's views on this, I may be the odd man out.

Otherwise, this is a very nice photo with the brown leaf highlighting the raindrops against a dark background.

I like the subject very much, and I agree with Stryker.
Sometimes, we must interfere a little with nature, as long as nothing is damaged. Holding the OoF foreground leaf out of view would have produced an excellent image.

I agree about the cropping. I really like the leaf with the drops, but there's so much foreground in the way, visibly!

I'm of the same mind as the others who have posted. Love the subject -- I'm always drawn to those full drops on foliage -- but they deserve to be more of the focus of the image. Because the full shape of the leaf is not visible, it registers as an odd form, which takes away from the impact of the raindrops.

Thanks for all the comments. I appreciate your time and input.

Actually, yes, I framed this shot so you would be looking past the first leaf. I was attempting to invoke the feeling something like when you were a child looking through the bushes and discovered a secret treasure....something nobody had seen before.

Thank you for your comments though, I will try a something else to see if I can evoke those thoughts...a different way.

Here is another one from the same day, I was happy with, any thoughts on this?

I'm gonna hafta be the odd man out on this one. I like the first one as is. I saw it as the OP intended, as if I was peeking through seeing something beautiful hidden away.
