Default Mini maple leaves

Hosted by imgur.com

Camera: Sony DSC HX5 (P&S)
I'm not sure how to get the settings.
Flikr is currently throttled from my country.

Mainly I would like some suggestions on cropping. This would seem to make a nice background IMO

What's wrong with this method? I'd show the img directly, but it's really large.

Notice how you havent had any replys? Thats one reason, folks dont like to flip back and forth.
We would rather you post your photo here rather than link to another site.
You could upload it as an attachment

Nevermind~
I found out that imgur provided some photo rescaling, just choose the "large" one.

As you said, "This would seem to make a nice background."

There is nothing in your image, IMO, to draw the eye. It's pretty, but it doesn't make a picture.
For successful closeups (BTW, your image isn't a macro), there should be a subject. A background is a background.

Here's a closeup of the same subject:

Glowing Leaves
