Default to crop or not to crop?

HI all, I took this shot of some beautiful potted flowers that are blooming full force on our patio. I really like the shot and the colors, but I was wondering if I should crop in closer or if the background is not too distracting and should be left the way it is. Also, is the angle OK? I took some other shots that are more level, but liked this one more.

I like the flower, but feel it's a bit over-saturated. The red brick wall is a distraction. This is not a macro, it's a close up. Try shifting the pot around to get a better background. Also, some back light might offer a bit of translucence to the petals.

I looked at some of your images on flickr and you have some nice things. I recommend to shut off in camera saturation and sharpening. These are hurting your images. If needed, a careful adjustment can be made in post processing.
