Default Is this artistic, or just bad?

I was experimenting with different apertures and I came up with this shot. I kind of like it, but is the DOF just too small, or does it work? Are the colors and exposure right? Anything else I could have done better? Thanks so much.

Thank you so much for your comments!
For this shot I was using a canon 50mm prime lens (love it!) with a close up filter.

Thanks again for your time.

I wouldn't say it bad, but not that good either, in my opinion. First of all, is that really the most flattering point of view for the flower? And the water droplets are quite small and partially blurry also, so I don't think they can save the photo. I understand that you can only get so close with certain lenses.
But it's all a learning process, right? =) I probably wouldn't have done any better with your gear (I don't own a DSLR).

Could be better, could be worse. Flower shots are usually better from the petal "opening" side, but not always. The petal in the lower left is just barely cut off, which is distracting. Maybe just a little more Dof would help as well. Not bad though. It's always good to leave room for improvement...

I love the color, but I think there's just too much out of focus, it's a little distracting for me.

Thank you all for your comments! I really appreciate the advice. I'll keep this in mind next time I'm shooting flowers.
