YES, I did it
My first macro of a fly that I can show to somebody!!
But I post it in critique section because I want to know if the focus is ok...
How do you find the composition?
And the depht of field... Is the background too blur?

Here's the photo...

Thank you very much for your opinion... It help me very much too improve!

Exif data:
camera: Nikon D80
lens: Nikor 28-80mm with extension tube
exposure: 6 seconds
aperture: f/16 if my memory is right
iso: 100
white balance: 5 300k

Thanks and I wish you all a nice week!

Hi Franky

I think you got the fly bang on! The only thing I found a little distracting was the bright green at the top of the photo. I really like how the leaf fades a bit but there seems to be a bit too much contrast between the leaf and the background. Dont know if this helps. But it is a really good picture. Congrats on your first macro

Yes, now that you mention it, it is distracting... My shot was a little too bright at the beginning

Thanks for taking the time to critique, it's appreciated!

Have a nice day!

Hard to tell from the small image size, but it looks like you got the focus tack-sharp.

However, I think this photo would benefit from a tighter crop. The fly's leg is cut off at the bottom, which is a little distracting.

Also, the colors are kind of bland. Maybe try boosting the Vibrance in Lightroom or something.

Overall, though, I really like this shot. Macro photography is really hard!

Hi Michael,
First of all, thank you for taking time to comment/critique. It's appreciated !
About the leg, unfortunately, this is how I took the photo... The only thing I can do is "do it again" Next time, I'll watch that!!
About vibrance, it was a notion I didn't know. I searched internet to find a way to do it with Gimp and find it !! Yes, this improve the shot and not only this one!! I will use it with some others...
Basically I decompose the photo in HSV (Hue, Saturation, Value) keep the saturation, invert it and put it like a mask on a new layer...
Always something new to learn, this is why I love photography!!
Good night everyone!
