Default Beginner!!! ...(very.....)

Hi all,
I need some critique on attached photo..... I am trying to push my pentax optio E35 to the limits....sometimes successfully other times not too successfully.....
I really enjoy taking close up pics but seem to have "lighting" issues....
Any suggestions

That's a bit of a Lemon!! Sorry, I couldn't resist that.

What lighting issues are you having? This seems to me to be a good shot and properly exposed etc. Personally, I think the yellow background detracts from the point of focus as it is so similar to the lemon itself but maybe that's how you wanted the shot. Maybe if you could post your EXIF data then the more knowledgeable people her could give you some advise.

Hi Henry,

Thanks, unfortunately there is nothing much to "fiddle" with on this camera... he he... but here is the EXIF data:Camera Pentax Optio E35
Exposure 0.017 sec (1/60)
Aperture f/2.7
Focal Length 6 mm
ISO Speed 160
Exposure Bias 0 EV
Flash Auto, Did not fire
I wanted the yellow background but have also taken a black background (see my flicker photo stream)...

I'm with Henry on this one.But since you want the yellow background how about choosing something that is a lighter shade? just to separate the lemon a bit. Good shot though, love how the photo shows the "juiciness" of the lemon.

Thanks plyingsaucer..... Only had one yellow T-shirt available (my daughters....) this shot was a challenge, balancing 1 slice of lemon with two toothpics on two upturned wine glasses (with 1 breakage) squeezing the lemon juice from the other half of the lemon to get drops to form....with a desk lamp for lighting.... with the camera on a coffee container for steadyness.... lol ....I will experiment with a lighter background though......

I did see the one with the black background and liked that although it seemed a little softer.

That sounds like quite a spe******ed set up you've got going there, sounds worthy of a photograph itself! Keep shooting, I look forward to seeing more.
