What adjustment in my setting (using the EF 18-135mm lens) could improve this photo.

Perhaps a little overexposed - exposure compensation or a slightly faster shutter speed perhaps?

I have to share this bee fact because of the sheer amount of bees on these forums. Because of their chromosomal arrangement, unfertilised bee eggs always produce male bees, fertilised eggs always female. Thus male bees have no father and no sons. Same goes for wasps. One to amaze your friends with

It doesn't seem overexposed to me, just a bit blown out on the bees back. But I'm a noob and have no clue what I'm talkin about, so take it for what it's worth, which ain't much. But I would suggest bringing down your ISO before messin with shutter speed.

Correct me if I'm wrong, I am new to all this, but wouldnt lowering the ISO also reduce the amount of noise in the image? I was under the impression you wanted to shoot with the lowest ISO possible. Unless of course you are wanting noise in your picture.
