Up close and personal

I could use some help with my new little macro lens. I hope it's just inexperience and not that I got taken on the lens. I can't figure out how to get a super clear shot up close.
I used mu Nikon D50 with my 18-55 nikon lens and then added the screw on digital high def .45X superside angle macro lens.
I shot it at the 55mm focal lenth
F/11
1/100 SS
I took pictures of the little lens I may post in the equipment section.

If you want to get a good shot as close as you can get with the lens+camera combo, I suggest using manual focus and moving the actual camera to get the focus. That way you can get as close as the camera can get the best focus.
