Smile some type of mini rose

ISO 100

Hey everyone. Took this shot of one of my mother's flowers in upstate NY. Believe she said it was some type of mini rose. Really thought the inside was cool. Anyways didn't use the macro setting this time. Don't have a macro lens or tripod. Just got up real close and tried to steady myself. Did some touch up in photoshop. Sharpened a bit and touched up exposure i think. Anyways would love comments. How is focus, color, composition?
Could I have gotten closer with a macro lens? Thanx for looking and enjoy!

Pretty flowers. The center of the top flower (presumably the subject) is out of focus. The lower flower is infocus but is really more of a distraction beacause of it's location. Maybe you could crop to focus on the lower flower. Macro mode or a macro lens/diopters would have helped you get closer and keep the focus on the center of the flower. The reason the center of the flower is out of focus is that your camera, not in macro mode or without a macro lens/diopters, can't focus that close. Hope I helped!

Thanx. Yes I was thinking that the bottom flower was more in focus. Was trying to capture the middle of the top flower. I will try your crop suggestion and also look at some of my other shots to see if I was able to get the middle more in focus. Saving my pennies for a macro lens. Thanx for looking and the tips
