Default Flowers?!

Hello, I am new to the site and to the world of photography in general. I was fooling around with the camera, you know, just focus and press the little button; but then I decided to get a bit more serious. Here are a few of my little shots, as I am quite interested in macro. For this specific photo, I would like to ask about arrangement, probably color choice and mostly anything you can tell me as wrong. Thank you!

Just for a future notice, make sure you're focused only on your subject. Because in this particular photo, my eye keeps getting drawn onto the wet wooden plank-like thing.
Also keep an eye out for your aperture. A smaller aperture (i.e. 19, 22, etc) will give you a better focus on the subject, eliminating a lot of the distractions.
As for the arrangement, it's pretty good for a starter (I'm not a pro myself) but try to avoid backgrounds that are too light as it can cause distractions, especially in the current colour settings.
