I do believe that this is too close of a crop. I notice that it is very tight on top. The top of the rose is nearly hitting the top of the frame, which I find displeasing.

I agree, i feel the image is quite bottom weighted even though all the colour draws the eye to the top. it also looks like the light could have used a bt of diffusion as its a bit harsh. my opinion

I think the crop is to close, Perhaps the bud taken on an angle, with more of the focus on the pink of the bud .
Otherwise nicely in focus, with good DOF

Make sure you post all of your exif data. It will assist us in better assisting you with giving you feedback on your image. Your ISO is missing, was this hand held or tripod?
