Default Daisy time

From Drop Box

I took this the other day, my first time shooting macro whilst on manual. I know it's never going to win prizes, but I'm quite proud of it. How would you improve it? Do you think that maybe because it's a daisy, which is quite a common flower, it's a little bit more boring and less exciting than if it was a really exotic type of flower?

Thanks

I wish that the bottom of the daisy would be visible like the rest of it!

If this is sample is already cropped, I would go back to the original file and make sure the whole daisy is visible. If not, I'd take the photo again with either a shorter focal length, or just taking a step backward!

:-)

Please post more information on how you shot your image along with the exif data. In order to better assist you with giving you feedback we need this data.

I like the black and white image. As mentioned above do not cut off the petal of the flower.

Look very closely at the edges of the center of the flower. This is your focus point. This area is out of focus.

You cannot rely on your auto focus all of the time, especially when shooting macro. Use manual focus or use your focus lock on your camera to set the focus on the area that you want, press the shutter button half way then re-position the scene then take the picture.

Adjust the DOF creatively, which is very important wihen shooting macro.

Keep on shooting

Thanks

Joe
