I compose the pic with the intend to depict the point of view of a bug looking up to the sky from its path while traveling. I tried using macro shot against direct sunlight to magnify the immediate surrounding.
But somehow something is not right and I could not pinpoint the problem. Appreciate your help and critique to highlight the problem. Let me know if the problem is in the exposure, composition, like lack of focus subject, angle, shadow patches too distracting, or something else. Thanks in advance

I think one problem is the big black blob (shadow?) in the lower left hand corner. There is nothing to suggest what it is even supposed to be. While I understand your concept, I just don't think it makes for a very interesting picture. However, with the light coming from above, I think an excellent and interesting shot could have been taken by focusing just on the veining in the leaves, especially the one in the top middle part of the frame.

when taking the pic, i try out the angle you mentioned to try to focus on the veins then. Do help me to take a look if this pic is better in depicting or issit not focused enough on the vein.
