Default New camera First Macro!

Hi!
I just got a new camera and on my way to discover the trends of photography I tried macro on a flower which happens quite a lot I guess but any criticism on any errors are welcome since I'm just learning!

I would crop the shot tighter. You have a very nice blur to the background, but there is so much of it, it takes away from the subject. Gte in close and make sure you have a dead sharp focus on the part of the flower you are attempting to showcase.

Congrats on the new gear! It's always exciting playing with new toys!! I would try different angles and not put the flower directly in the middle of the frame. Doing so makes it look less interesting than it actually is...especially those cool shaped petals! Good luck!
