I took this with no thought process and it has turned out to be one of my favorites. I hate that I cut off the bottom of the flower, but love the way the details are so sharp. Just trying to see what I could do to make it better next time. Thanks!

Yeah. Too bad you chopped off that bottom petal. How about cropping the top a little tighter to lose part of the upper petals? Not too much because you don't want to lose the water droplets.
Doing that might make it look like less of an accident and more of a "I meant to do that." |

I agree with what the others have said. Typically, when there's something interesting about the entire flower (in this shot, the water drops) then it oftentimes pays off to get the entire flower in focus. And the lopped off bottom petal is a bit of a miss.
Also, I can't really tell if the darker ring inside the flower is a shadow, or the flower's natural coloring there. Either way, I'd like to see a little more light there, looks like a reflector might have been a good call here. -K |

Get the flower on the shade next time or use something to diffuse the sharp light. Try a different angle. Be different.
