I like it, how it is.

I happen to love sepia. I think it is warmer and less harsh than b&w and use it an nearly all of my monochromatics. Your choice here, to mimic the color and emphasize the texture of the jute is a good one and overall the image works well. I also like the gradation from light to dark across the image and the way the knot breaks the patter. However, I suspect you could have done just a bit better if you had tilted the camera just a bit to give the pattern a sharper angle and pushed the knot a bit closer to one of the corners and away from the center.

Thanks for dropping by and for the encouraging remarks. I too love sepia (sometimes I even prefer it to B/W) but I don't see too many digital photos shot in that mode. Regarding your suggestion, I agree the knot at a corner with the threads going diagonally could've really made the shot more interesting. I'm keen to try it out now - the stool sits in my balcony actually :-) Have a good weekend. Sunwrites

HillHaven,
Thanks. I'm glad you like it. Yes, it's really hard to make out that it's in sepia tones due to the color of jute. The actual jute threads also had some black strands which are hidden by the sepia. Sunwrites
