Default first real macro shot

Can anyone offer a critique on this picture of a tropical plant? Took this one on vacation and it was my first time composing a macro shot. Thoughts on lighting, composition, and any advice in general would be much appreciated! THANKS!

I like it but I feel behind the plant is too busy. Maybe removing the plant behind would give the subject more attention that it deserves? Also giving it a 2nd look, the subject is a little too dark off to the left but not sure how you would go about correcting this?

I agree that is seems a little busy in the back. But I like the way that it darkens to the left, it guides your eye from right to left. Keep up the awesome work!

Try different angles next time. This is just a plant and to me it seems like a snap shot. Look for unique features within the same plant and you might be amazed on what you can capture. For this picture, is too dark.
