I captured this shot spur of the moment last week in Florida, outside the condo where we were vacationing. The dragonflies were buzzing around and I was sitting there, sans camera, wishing one would light long enough to focus a shot, when all of a sudden I got my wish. I went speeding to get my camera, hastily set it on a generous 640 ISO and 1/600th shutter priority and starting snapping. My aperture was at f/11.
![]() I feel very fortunate that I managed to capture the one element I desired... those beautiful wings. However, I am not sure if I could have done better with different settings. Obviously a lower ISO would eliminate noise, but I think I was worried about shutter speed more than anything because the seagrass was swaying in the breeze. Lowering the ISO would have compromised that setting. Any other thoughts on better decisions I could have made? I have added a tiny bit of fill light in LR to give the body a little more detail and used Noiseware in PSE.
