Default Newbies First Time Macro Shots

Hi, I am totally brand-new to DPS & am loving the site a whole lot.....:

Here are some pix I took on my 1st time around ever shooting Macro with my 70-300mm Sigma Lens.... Please let me know what you guys think.... It will only help me become better.....

NIKON D60, Sigma 70-300mm, f/5.6, ISO-200, Exposure 1/320 sec., Flash N/A

Exif is the settings your camera was on when you took the photo. You can usually find it in your processing software under image information and will have your exposure, iso, aperture, flash and a few other settings. Let me know if you need more help

Well, it really does depend on that EXIF info.

IE: If you were trying to go for a shot with everything in focus, but your EXIF data says that your aperture was set at f/3.5, you would receive critiques in the forum about making the aperture more narrow with a higher f/stop number. Just as an example!

That EXIF info is important in your posts :-)

It is a very nice shot. You might want to crop it some to isolate the subject area.

The EXIF is usually usually under "Image" or "View" information. You can copy, then patse it in your post.

Nice pic! Bees are a pain to get a clear shot of. I'd recommend playing around with the aperature a bit. A higher f/stop will bring a bit more of the image into focus, which is helpful when taking photos of bugs or flowers as you end up with more in focus. I was amazed at the difference in my images when I started to steer away from leaving the aperature wide open all the time.
