I don't think there is any rule about how close is too close, but you have to chose what you're trying to capture. I would have zoomed out enough so that all the yellow stems were included in the frame, then used a smaller aperture (higher f/ number) so that they were sharply focused while the background petals remained blurred.
The color and saturation is very good. Nice work and keep at it. |

Hi there,
I don't think it matters whether or not the flower is identifiable...depends on what you're going for. The image that I clicked on is a bit grainy and less sharp...is the attached picture a compressed version? Ditto to pbaily--gorgeous colors!! Reina
