Default new macro lens: Flowers

Brand new to the art of photgraphy. I love macro but I admit, seeing flowers gets a little dull. However, this was my first attempt and i just happened to have Mothers Day Flowers. I have others that are not flowers that won't upload so just this for now. Thanks in advance for feedback.

hi lisa,

I like the layers of the petals, that was a very good attempt of you on macro, we all start somewhere . I am a new member here in the forum too and I just learned about depth of field and focus. As for me I think you need to focus your subject a bit more to define the details better. That's just what I think though.

I don't really know what I'm looking at, and it seems a little out of focus.

What specific lens is this, exactly?

I kind of liked that it didn't come out as an obvious flower, though it is. So in that sense, I acheived my goal. The focus however is an issue if I want it to display the details of the flower, petals etc. I'd like to try the shot again and try different focus points but I want to keep the milky layer effect. Not having my lens handy, I'll have to get back to you on that. I should make a point of incuding this information so others like yourself can critique and make suggestions. Thanks
