Default Intense Gaze

This shot was taken on my Sony Camcorder. As such the resolution is not good. However I liked the intensity in the eyes of the pigeon and clicked away. I have tried to follow the rule of thirds. I would welcome any comments and suggestions to improve the composition. I am going to now try the same shot again with my still camera when i get the chance again.

It appears to have been cropped down from a larger image, is that right? You didnt post your exif so either the grain is from having your exif high or its fro cropping it.
I would run a denoise program on it to try and remove some.
You can also sharpen just the eyes up on another layer so the eyes will be sharp and the rest of the photo wont have that over sharpened look to it.

Thanks for the critique windrider.

No, this is not a croppped image. In fact no PP was done on the shot. As I mentioned this was a captured with a camcorder and not a still camera. Hence the grain. I have given the EXIF data below the photograph. I will follow your suggestions and try to improve the image, though it may take me a lot of time as I am an absolute amateur and learning things hands on.

Thnaks once again.
