Macro flowers and some smoke

These are my first macro flower attempts.





Im happy with them, but i just feel empty. I think about photography all day and yet only on a few rare occasions do i get good shots and its kinda dissapointing.

Camera: Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT
Exposure: 0.001 sec (1/1250)
Aperture: f/5.6
Focal Length: 300 mm
ISO Speed: 200
Exposure Bias: -2/3 EV
Flash: Off, Did not fire




Any advise or help with inspiration welcome

BTW sorry if my post sucks its my first, and Im using a Canon 350d and the kit lens.

Good morning-

The smoke in the rose photo is a cool concept, but it just seems displeasing to me. Possibly more smoke in a B/W photo (to give a dirty, dark feel,) would do the trick.

The other two flower photos are fabulous! I would take out the little reflections from the water lilly in that photo, as I find those distracting. This is very minor, though.

Thank you for your reply and complements. I agree about the rose, my mind is stuck on the smoke concept and I want to make it a great shot. I will try it black and white. I also belive the background is distracting.

Any body else that has a thought your help is greatly appreciated.
