Hello welcome to DPS. The leaves are very sharp which is good but I think it would be better if you focus more on the petals and the inner part of the flower, just to my opinion...Good attempt though. I would also try in different angles to expose the inner part of the flower...

I like the positioning of the flower, how it leans. I like the positioning of the leaves and top of flower. Can't think of any rule it follows, but I like it.
You did get the center of the flower in focus, but that one petal got in the way. You could have enlarged the depth of field enough to get all the petals in focus while keeping the nice fuzzy background. Moving around the flower and peeping in through all of the petals may have gotten you a good shot of the center, while still leaving the front petals out of focus. I do this. Sometimes moving over just a fraction will get an obscuring leaf or petal out of the way. You could have gone further in to the center of the flower with less leaf and petal on the edges. Maybe capture the center curls with some of the purple squiggles. |
