I don't get it...what was the "point" for taking this image? I think it's missing a clear "subject".

To be hones idk i just took the picture to take it i wasn't looking to show anything but what you see there

I agree with SK66, I don't get it... I also agree with you, it is missiing something. IMHO, particularly with still life, you don't just take pics and see what happens, you need to convey a message, emotion a reason for taking the shot and it your inspiration that guides your composition and lighting etc.

It's beautifully sharp and everything, but it doesn't have a raison d'être, that's what's missing.

To get a spooky look; you could have the light shining though the 'branches' to make shadows on the page. Or make the 'branches' black with shadows on the page for more spooky.

You could go for creating a mood that this book is ancient. How no idea how to do that. Maybe yellow the page some. Make the branch browner and older looking.

There could be a romantic mood in this picture. I really have no idea how to do that.
