What do you think of the focus on this? Too soft? And what about the composition, too busy?

Not bad at all
softness is dependent on viewer taste
composition a just touch busy
My self I would match the spacing around the weed make it same spacing as the top so all round will be a little tighter
and also do a tone curve adjustment on all colour will give it touch of boost or more difne colour overall
just a thought

well done as it is so maybe just a bit of crop will do

I am a beginner and new to this forum, this is my first post; so not qualified to critique.......but I know what I like, and I really like this. Maybe crop a little off the bottom.......What if you tried a higher aperture for more blur? I just got the 55mm lens and have the filters....I am going to experiment!!! I have a Nikon D3000. Send some more!
