I shot this with my 50mm f1.8 my aperture was at f2.8 and shutter speed at 1/800 iso 100. This was not cropped but was given a slight color change.
I am just wondering if I should have brought more light into this shot, and If I should have focused more on the closest part of the seeds or kept it on the center like it is. I would love to hear your opinions. thanks! |

I think the lighting is good. But I'm still learning a lot about lighting in portraits myself. Heh.
It is a little blurry for a macro shot though. I do think the dandelion should have been brought into focus more. The blurred seeds floating away work well with the shot, in my opinion. |

I guess in order to "critique" the photo, it's important to know what your goal was. I love the photo in all it's glowing (some would say blurry) glory, but if you wanted something crisp, that's another story.
I think your photo is one that leads to a discussion of what is "good". crisp, focused images or ones that evoke a feeling (not that the two are mutually exclusive!). TFS! I love it and would be very happy to have taken it! |

I like the lighting, my only critiques would be if you could sharpen up the seeds, and possibly darken the greenish blur that is right behind the dandelion. It would probably 'pop' a lot more if it was against a darker background, similar to the seeds.
