Default Drippy Tree Sap

I am just getting started with macro. I don't have a macro lens because I don't have the money for one. I found some close up filters for my 50mm and have been trying them out. They seem to do pretty good?
This picture is of some sap on a tree in the back yard. I'm wondering if the composition is okay? It is so up and down, divided in two. Does it work?
Thanks for any critique, good or bad

Hi,
My eyes flicked between the 3 drips and I think I wanted to get a closer look a the large central one as it looks to have clarity and colour in it.

Thank you for looking Dave. Are you saying I should have filled my frame more with the focused drop?

Nice shot, but I agree it could benefit from a closer crop on the in-focus bead of sap

Hi
For me, yes. Like jungle bear said, the main focus is the central vivid drop. Maybe a closer crop and re post here?

I think it's gorgeous. I love the tones, great focus. This is something I'd want to use as a desktop wallpaper.

Great job!

I like the crop. I immediately stared into the drop to see if I could see what was reflected in it. It's not lost to much definition either. Nice
