Default Spider

I have not done too much macro work yet...

I was cleaning the bathroom this morning, and found this tiny guy behind the garbage pail. I grabbed my $15 macro and gave it a shot.

What do you think of focus, DOF & Composition of this snap shot?

could use a little photoshop work to bring out some detail and clean up the exposure. WB looks like it might be a little off. Biggest complaint is that there is too much white space around spider. Cropping just around him will make it much more interesting.

Great photo, I think that a tighter crop might improve the shot. Other than that, the detail is great. It looks like their legs are almost translucent - crazy! My wife shrieked when she saw this. haha, anyway thanks for sharing!

Cheers!

Thanks for the comments guys..

I can hardly wait to find a larger one. This guy was probably 1/16th of an inch across, so like I said tiny. When I find something a little larger, I think it will be wild!

Here is a tighter crop, little WB adjustment, some saturation etc. The top picture was SOC, except for a little crop and to convert Raw to jpeg...

Does this work better?

I know what you mean, very small indeed. Plus, you usually have to get pretty close to em to get a good shot and they don't always cooperate. I think this is one of the same guys
