Default Flower with a bug

Still needs something to bring out the color. What do you think?

codewarrior00007,

When you have a yellow background, the yellow flower will be less vibrant against it. The bloom is clear and sharp, so if you can position one (or find one) that has a darker bg, the contrast will make the yellow seem bolder. And if it's a single bloom, or one filling the frame, so much the better. Try shooting the same bloom in about 20 different positions. It will become apparent which one best features the color.

Here is my two cents.

For illustration purposes, I did some basic post processing, reduced the background brightness and cropped the photo.

Thank you for your comments/suggestions.

I see what you mean. I tried to add a background using Elements 8 but it wasn't looking real. So I took it out. Let me try again...

Appreciate all the critique.

Bugs are a fact of life (and little yellow blooms too).
